What Nik Knows

Mar 10, 2021

Anyone else see pictures of their baby bassinet filled to the brim with stuffed animals blankets?

Anyone else’s parents place them belly down in their crib when they were babies?

Anyone else do baby math when counting wake windows?!

AH sleep… who knew how big of a conversation it was going to be once you had a kid huh?

There are so many different methodologies when it comes to sleep and children’s sleep. Today I have Kelsey Alford who leverages evidence based research when it comes to infant and toddler sleep. Kelsey is a pediatric nurse practitioner, sleep consultant to babies and children ages 0-18 years, and founder of Nested Sleep.  She has over 15 years of experience working in the field of pediatrics. She is married and a mom to two kids ages 2 and 4. Her mission is to ensure families don’t have to walk the world of parenthood alone and get the support they need to have happy, healthy, and well rested kiddos. She lives in the Seattle area and works with families both locally and virtually.

Here are some of the things you’ll learn on today’s episode:

  • Infant sleep the first year of life
  • Sleep associations (which are good and which are ones you may want to eliminate)
  • When should your baby sleep through the night
  • Is sleep training for parents?
  • Demystifying the myths about sleep training
  • Sleep regressions and what to do about them
  • Short naps
  • Setting up schedules and routines
  • Creating a game plan with your partner before bedtime sleep begins

AND SO MUCH MORE!!!

For all things sleep make sure to go follow Kelsey at @nestedsleep, email her Kelsey@nestedsleep.com or even reach her by phone at  (206) 588-6304.  She is also having a sale on her early morning awakenings ebook through next weekend(no code needed)! It’s a good prep for daylight savings time to get schedules lined up!

Happy Listening!
